This unique and stylish annexe is attached to historic Ponden Hall, a house enjoyed by the Brontë sisters and the inspiration for Thrushcross Grange in Wuthering Heights and Wildfell Hall!
The sisters were regular visitors, drawn by the library, and, it is likely that Ann, Emily, Charlotte and their brother Branwell took shelter here in September, 1824. The siblings were caught in the intense storm, and the Peat House provided safety from the torrent of mud that ravaged the landscape.
Only a short walk from a number of popular Brontë landmarks, such as Top Withens or Brontë falls, this space is ideal for walkers, Brontë fanatics or anyone wanting to enjoy the beauty of West Yorkshire.
The Peat House is one of the oldest parts of Ponden Hall and consists of a vaulted, open plan living area above two well appointed, ensuite guest bedrooms.
